March 8th 2023 is International Women’s Day. In recognition, the AMSR is making available an extract from one of our recent publications, as a completely free download. It’s an article written by Judith Staig, entitled ‘Women at Work’.
In her article, taken from our book ‘How We’ve Changed: Social Trends from Post-War to Present Day and Beyond’, Judith considers fascinating and revealing evidence contained within the Archive of Market and Social Research, indicating that ‘when it comes to women in the workplace, it’s a case of plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose. Women are still fighting for equality of treatment, of opportunity and of safety and security, but it is also possible to see signs of improvement’.
